Exporting a user report to Excel

I want to export a user report I have to excel so I can take some information off it that is not relevant for my accountant. I've tried to send the file to a disk file but when I load the disk file it contains rubbish. What am I doing wrong here thanks?

    You need to:

    1. Start Visual Builder and open the report you want to change.

    2. Click on the body of the report using your mouse. (The body section of a user report will have a red dashed line directly below it.) Blue handles should appear around the body when you click on it.

    3. From the main menu select File|Export.

    4. Select the type of file you want to export.

    5. Click on the binoculars button to specify the name of the file and where you want to save it on your system.

    6. Press Save and then save the report and exit the editor.

    7. Run the report.

Now a file suitable for import into Excel will be created when you run the report.
