    Report Variables

    by JeffGrant » Wed Feb 13, 2019 1:29 pm

Afternoon, I know I raised this issue in a thread in 2016, but I could find a way to add to that post with this new bulletin board. I would like to resolved this please because I am having to create several data file specific reports where company identification information is being hard coded into different reports

When using the Report Editor, I have found that if I add user data input fields to a report, such as [@yourname], {@yourabn], [@youraddress] etc ie fields that request data from the Customisation | Company settings, that information is not picked up and put in the report.

However, if add system fields such [@user], [@date] etc, the system fields are picked and printed correctly.

    Any ideas?

    cheers

There is no reason why they won't display unless perhaps they have been placed in the wrong area of the report. Compare to a working report and see if that works as expected.

    Thanks

This is a direct copy from the Account1.gpt report

    #HEADER
    ! [@CENTRE]
    BALANCE SHEET

    [@YOURNAME]
    [@YOURACN]
    [@PERIODNAME]
    Financial Year [@YEAR]
    #BODY
    [@NEWPAGE]

attached is a screen print of the header.

As you can see, sysem fields are populated. Customisation fields such as company name and ABN are not.

    any guidance would be appreciated.

    thanks
