Hi.

My server which runs on windows 8.1 pro has become very unstable to the point that I have had to copy Capital to an XP back up machine.

On the Windows 8.1 box, when I click on invoice / credit I get the following message:

===============================================================================

This message does not appear when entering sales orders.

I looked for CAPERR.TXT, but it does not seem to be getting created for me to send to you.

On the XP box I get the same message and if I try to reprint an open invoice, VB starts printing what looks like all open invoices.

Either way - not good.

I have completed the Database Maintenance tool, ran a stress test and did manage to email the caper zip file that got created.

I am sending the Capital server away for repair but would appreciate some direction on how to fix the copy on the XP box in the meantime.

Thanks

UPDATE: After running the database maintenance tool, the above error on the XP box went away.

We don't support old versions so unfortunately nobody would be looking at your error logs. Internal errors or assertions, are pieces of monitoring code we put in the software to check on the health of the system. A TR25 suggests you have corruption in your database. This may have been caused by a disk failure or network problem during a database write event. You could try performing a database maintenance and also running the archive function to export transactions from 01/01/80 - 01/01/80 to see if the system can remove some of the damaged data. This is not guaranteed though, and it depends on the extent of the damage suffered.
