Back Order Control Centre Releases Stock Twice?

When our salesmen release stock from the back order control centre, the stock stays in the back order control centre and another salesman can come in and re-release the stock again. Today we had a double up of invoicing due to this. Can you please let me know about this.

That's not possible. The system won't let you release the same back order twice. You can fire up CAPITAL on two different computers and try to release goods for the same customer and you will see that this cannot be done.

However, there are other ways that users could bill the same goods twice. For example:

    1. A user releases invoices, then for whatever reason decides to put those goods on back order while in the invoice. This will cause the goods to be removed from the Back Order Control Centre, but then will place the new back orders into the Back Order Control Centre.

    2. A user re-saves a sales order where an invoice has already been released. In order to do this the user would have to change the status of the order from "delivered" back to "on order" and ignore the subsequent warning messages about back orders being reinstated.
