    Capital Finder Not Working

    by Symptom » Tue Mar 18, 2008 2:10 pm

    Hi.

We have just purchased a new Toshiba Tecra A9 Notebook at our office and can't get the Capital Finder to work.
Type in a job number and nothing happens.
    Rest of Capital works fine.
    Any ideas?

    Capital 7.3
    Windows XP SP2 v2002

Please let me know any other specs I should list

    Cheers!

Please double-check to see if you are experiencing other problems with comboboxes or listboxes inside your application.

Does "garbage" appear inside any of the lists? Do the wrong options get selected in some cases?

Try booting your laptop in 'safe mode' and see if your software now works as expected.

We have seen in rare cases with Toshiba laptops that they load numerous buggy programs on start-up that cause problems with other applications, including our own.

If this is your situation, you may need to run MSCONFIG from the Start|Run menu and disable any applications on start-up that are not needed, which will prevent the program that is causing the problem from effecting your system.

    BRILLIANT!

Followed your instructions and ran msconfig - turns out it was the fingerprint reader software that was stuffing it up.

Uninstalled that program (never going to use it) and now everything works perfectly!

    THANKS THANKS THANKS!
