Can't start software: 'Application closed for maintenance'

    Hi,

I can no longer start my evaluation version of Capital. When I try to run the program it tells me:

"Sorry, this application is presently closed for maintenance"

What can I do to get the software working again?

This is because you started the Installation program and selected Toolbox|Maintenance Mode and shut the software down for "maintenance".

This feature is useful when you need to close the software down when many users from many different sites may be trying to log in. Typically in a 50-100 user environment. It is not really relevant in a smaller environment where it is more easy to control user log ins.

You would have received various warning messages and instructions on how to re-start the software after you selected Maintenance Mode which you probably did not pay attention to at the time.

To restart the software you'll need to execute from the command line, or use the Windows Run command, the following:

    C:\CAPITAL\INSTWIN.EXE /FORCELOAD

then go back to Toolbox|Maintenance Mode and reactivate the software.

(The above assumes you have loaded CAPITAL into your C:\CAPITAL folder.)
