    Stock Sales and Service Sales

Apart from selling our stock items, we now starting to charge a Service Fee, wich is a % of stock handled on consignment (this stock is not part of our company) I would like this service fee to be recorded in a separate sales account.
Can I in some way use a line-item code connected to the special Sales/income GL code? (not the default Sales-income-code)

Normally the procedure to do this would be to:

    1. Go into your general ledger
    2. Select Maintenance|General Ledger Sets
    3. Press Add and click on Yes when asked to copy the set
    4. Give the new set a Code and a Name.
    5. Change the Sales account to the account you want to direct your sales for this special item to.

Note: This is listed as '08. Sales', under the 'Description' column.

    6. Save your changes and exit the GL.

    7. Now create a stock item and ensure that 'Diminishing' is unticked, since this is a service item, not a stock item.
    8. Assign the 'GL Set' field of the stock item the general ledger set code you added to the system in step 4.

Now, every time you invoice this item, the item's sales value should be posted to the alternate sales account you specified.
