    Moving fields inside records

I have information in a user field in my customer accounts called ADDRESS3 and I need to move it to the field CUSADDR2. Is there some way to do this using CAPITAL?

The general approach to do this would be as follows:

    1. Make a copy of the file cuaux00.dbf found in your \CAPITAL\xxx folder where xxx is the company code.

    2. Load this copy (do not load the original file!) into Excel or your favoured spreadsheet program.

    3. Delete all columns except AUXKEY and your user address field.

    4. Save the resulting spreadsheet as a comma or tab delimited text file.

    5. Start Installation Workshop.

    6. From the menu select Transfer|Import External File|Customer Accounts

    7. Specify the name of your file in this panel, the type of delimiter used (enter 009 if you created a tab delimited file)

    8. Press OK to move to the mapping window.

    9. "Assign" the first entry in your text file to "CUSCODE"

    10. "Assign" the second entry in your text file to "CUSADDR2"

    11. Press Import button to move the data into the correct field.

Do the above on a back-up of your data first, because you don't want to make a mistake and overwrite important information.
