Possibly the user's problem is that they are entering their comments and descriptions as separate line entries below the product code on the transaction.
If they just moved to the description column, and pressed the INS (insert) key, a box would appear and they could type their special instructions, comments and other information into that box. When they do this, this additional information stays 'connected' with the product item, so the information is not 'scattered' when the pick list is sorted and printed.
