We have a requirement for using Stock Kits to add assembled product to our stock and have the used items rebalanced as we make the finished goods. Using stock assemblies is too time consuming and the current Stock Kit function only does the adjustment once the kit is invoiced. Is there a way to trigger the stock kit balance at time of entry prior to invoice.

If you want to avoid using the Assembly System (which is what your request is specifically designed to manage) then the only other way we can think of is to place your kit stock at a different location and then transfer the kit from this location to your invoicing location. You still need to raise a tranfer transaction however, and then also set-up another location in your inventory file for kits. If you think it is worth the trouble to do this, it will be slightly faster than using the Assembler.
