Hi there, I am using an old version of capital and wish to utilise a cash drawer with it. The cash drawers I have seen are opened by the printer but most of my cash sales I do not print a receipt for so i am wondering how I get around this?

CAPITAL 7.3 and above added serial interface communications functions. If you have that version you should be able to talk to a cash draw that has a serial interface. Some problems users have experienced in the past with this approach:

1. Their installation of Windows may make direct communications with the hardware difficult.

2. Missing, poor quality or incorrect documentation on the interface from the hardware provider sometimes makes it impossible to talk to the device.

Good, clear documentation on *how* to talk to the device is critical.
