We are looking to move to multi part forms which entails using a dot matrix printer. Are there any known issues or restrictions on using this type of printer with capital forms.

We are proposing to use a printer from the Epson range.

We've found that some Epson printer drivers can corrupt memory and eventually lead to your computer crashing. However, other manufacturers are guilty of the same kinds of problems (such as some HP printers), and that issue is not dot-matrix specific.

The main issue you may experience, is that dot-matrix printers tend to print much more slowly under Windows than other types of printers that you may be used to. If you need to print a large number of forms in a very short space of time, this could be a potential problem. If that proves to be a problem you may need to adjust the fonts on your forms and reduce graphics and grey and black areas that tend to take a long to print on a dot-matrix.
